Choose Red when preserving night vision matters. Red provides low-glare illumination that is less disruptive to your eyes in dark environments, making it ideal for navigating around camp, checking maps or gear, and moving around after dark. Red also reduces insect attraction compared with bright white light.

Amber — Relaxed Outdoor Lighting
Switch to Amber for warm, softer lighting around campsites, awnings, camp kitchens and outdoor living areas. It's ideal when you want comfortable, relaxed lighting rather than bright task illumination. Amber reduces insect attraction compared with bright white light, making it a practical choice for general outdoor lighting after dark.

Magnetic Mounting

The pre-fitted magnetic base lets you quickly position the light on suitable magnetic steel surfaces.

Move it when you need it. Remove it when you don't.

Ideal for temporary setups, work areas, toolboxes, camp kitchens and anywhere you want the flexibility to reposition your lighting.

Screw Mounting

For permanent installations and demanding environments, use the integrated heavy-duty cast-aluminium mounting tabs for maximum security and long-term reliability.

For applications exposed to corrugations, vibration or rough terrain, we recommend screw mounting to keep the light securely in place.

Ideal for 4WD canopies, drawer systems, caravans, camper trailers and other fixed installations where durability and reliability matter.

Short press to turn the light on or off and cycle through:

Cool White → Red → Amber

Press and hold to adjust the brightness of your selected colour.

Memory function retains your last selected colour and brightness setting when used with compatible external switching setups.

What colours does the LED strip provide?

How does the switch and dimming function work?

The integrated switch controls both colour selection and brightness.

Short press: Turn the light on/off and cycle through White → Red → Amber.

Is the LED strip waterproof?

Yes. The light has an IP68 waterproof rating for protection against dust and water, making it suitable for 4WDs, camping, caravans, marine applications and outdoor setups.

For best results, ensure all wiring connections and joins are properly sealed during installation.

Which colour is best if insects are a problem?

If insects are a concern, Red or Amber are preferable to bright white light.

Both reduce insect attraction compared with bright white light, making them ideal for campsites, awnings and outdoor living areas.

If you know you'll be in an area where insects are likely to be a problem, select Red or Amber from the start to reduce insect attraction rather than using bright white light.

Is it suitable for 4WDs, ute canopies and off-road setups?

Yes. Its rigid aluminium housing, IP68 protection, compact design and versatile mounting options make it well suited to 4WD touring and other demanding 12V applications.

For corrugations, vibration and rough off-road conditions, we recommend screw mounting using the heavy-duty cast-aluminium mounting tabs for maximum security and long-term reliability.

Does the LED strip have a magnetic mount?

Yes. It has a pre-fitted magnetic base for quick mounting and repositioning on suitable magnetic steel surfaces.

Important: The magnet will not attach to aluminium, stainless steel or other non-magnetic surfaces.

Will the magnetic base work on my 4WD canopy?

It depends on the canopy material.

The magnetic base works on magnetic steel only. Many modern 4WD canopies are made from aluminium and are therefore non-magnetic.

For aluminium canopies, permanent installations or demanding off-road use, use the heavy-duty cast-aluminium mounting tabs with screws instead.

When should I use magnetic or screw mounting?

Magnetic mounting is best when you want quick, repositionable or temporary lighting on a suitable steel surface.

Screw mounting is recommended for permanent installations, aluminium surfaces and high-vibration applications, including rough off-road use.

Why choose a rigid LED strip light instead of flexible LED strip?

The rigid aluminium housing provides a stronger mounting platform, greater physical protection and effective heat management.

This makes rigid LED strip lights particularly suited to 4WDs, canopies, caravans, boats and work vehicles where durability and secure mounting matter.

Can I connect it directly to a 12V battery?

Yes. It's designed for 12V DC systems and can be connected to a suitable vehicle battery, auxiliary battery, caravan power system or off-grid battery setup.

For permanent installations, use appropriate wiring, fusing and installation practices.

How do I install the LED strip light?

Use the magnetic base for quick mounting on suitable steel surfaces, or the heavy-duty cast-aluminium mounting tabs for permanent installations.

The approximately 1m pre-wired cable with red (+) and black (–) wires allows straightforward connection to your 12V system.

For high-vibration or off-road applications, screw mounting is recommended.

How much power does the 30cm version use?

The 30cm version uses approximately 2.4W / 0.2A at 12V.

Actual consumption can vary depending on the colour and brightness selected.

Which LED strip light size should I choose?
